What has watching anime taught me
I am one of the majority that spends a lot of time watching television programs. I do not just watch tv all day long, I do something else at the same time. I call it multitasking. Anyways, back to the main topic.
Whether it is watching something new or rewatching old series/ movies, there is always something that I can learn from it. I learn a lot about appreciation, hard work, patience, and when not to give up. People tell me anime is stupid and it is childish but honestly they are the ones that do not appreciate art. There is not age restriction when it comes to watching anime. If you cannot appreciate the art then keep it to yourself. Am I right?
I never cry at movies, real life is tragic enough. But anime taught me more than soap operas or movies on daily television program can. They make me feel more than anything else does. I do not ball my eyes out when I watch normal shows. They do not build up enough emotions in me to do that to me. To be fair, the things that I cry about are mostly friendship and departure. Put those two things together and you get a super emotional me. Anime make me appreciate my family and close friends more than I already do. They make me appreciate sports, music, art and my life a little more. Bit by bit. They remind me of my past and to not forget about my present. It means more to me as a form of art and a glimpse of my childhood memories.
Enough of the emotions, anime give me the best ideas to write about when I was in high school and had to take english exams on free writing. They have the best plots, jam packed with action and thrill. Every episode is worth your time and leaves you on the edge of your seat wanting for more. Of course while there are the bright side of animation, there is also the dark side to it. For instance, Free is one of my favourite anime solely because it reminds me of my life as an athlete. In that series, what I felt was in order to chase your dreams of wanting to stick with the sport that you love, going professional, to the world stage is your only chance of staying with it and being able to do it all the time. Even by being a medical trainer, physiotherapist or a coach no longer gives you the thrill. It's you managing your player or helping out your team, not you being in the field, participating. The excitement, that adrenaline rush that competing in a sport gives you can only be found when you compete in a high level match. A friendly match does not give you the thrill of competing. You know those people that you compete with and it does not feel like an official match at all. It is different.
Here is a short list of anime that I recommend:
1. Fullmetal Alchemist
2. Naruto
3. The Flower We Saw That Day
4. Erased
5. The Girl Who Leapt Through Time
6. Your Name
7. One Punch Man
8. King's Avatar
9. Haikyuu!
10. Free
11. Code Geass
I hope you enjoy what you read.
